AN INTRO TO ME

Welcome to EDT!

I’m Vourneen – a travel loving, Christmas obsessed, ukulele playing blogger!

Welcome to European Day Trips, your ultimate resource for exploring the best of Europe in a day.

If you’re limited with your annual leave, but want to see as much as Europe as possible on a short visit, I’ve got you covered. While we’d all love to be able to take our time and fully explore each country, sometimes we don’t have that luxury. That thing called ‘work’ gets in the way (insert eye roll here).

But just because you only have a day or two to spare, doesn’t mean you can’t experience the culture, cuisine (I’m talking about you, Italy), and beauty of Europe.

Here are three fun facts about me:

✨I play six musical instruments – guitar, ukulele, piano, tin whistle, drums, violin

✨I was once stranded in Yemen, which turned out to be one of my favourite travel memories

✨That ‘donut for a face’ picture of me was taken five minutes before I fell off a swing and fractured my coccyx!

WHY I BLOG

The “Why” Behind Day Trips in Europe

I wanted to put together a space where people could easily find and plan their European day trips. With so many amazing destinations and activities to choose from, I know it can be overwhelming trying to narrow down your options.

Plus, when you don’t get nearly enough time off work to plan and take longer trips, day trips are the way to go to see more of this beautiful continent.

From popular cities like Paris and London to lesser-known gems like Bratislava and Ljubljana, you’ll find detailed information on each destination right here.

I’ve also got recommendations for the best ways to get there, whether it’s by train, bus, or car rental. Plus, tips on local cuisine, experiences, and all the best landmarks.

A picturesque spring scene with vibrant pink cherry blossoms in full bloom, framing the view of a distinctive white church with a tall, blue spire in Bratislava, Slovakia. The church stands under a clear blue sky, with its intricate façade and round clock being clearly visible. The foreground is filled with the bright colors of the blossoms and fresh greenery, indicating the renewal of the season.
