Having lived abroad, and having travelled to over 16 European countries (and counting!) I’ve become somewhat of a European day trip expert.

I know the ins and outs of planning the perfect day trip, from choosing the right destination to packing efficiently. And now, I want to share my knowledge with you.

A little about me…

I’m Vourneen! Award winning travel blogger, international traveller, and lover of all things Europe.

I’ve been exploring the continent for over 20 years (er… showing my age!), coming across some rare-finds and I’ve always loved sharing my experiences with family and friends, which is why I decided to start this blog.

Having to scrimp and save my annual leave to fit as much travel into a week as possible means I had to pack a lot into just a couple of days.

Through my travels, I’ve discovered that every European county has its own unique charm and character that can only be experienced by visiting and exploring it firsthand.

Finland

Europe Day Trips

One of my favourite things about Europe is how easy it is to get around. I mean, you can literally be in another country within an hour or two without much hassle.

I’ve taken advantage of this countless times, planning day trips to nearby cities and towns that offer a completely different experience than the one I’m currently in.

Most recently, while based in Vienna, I was able to take a bunch of day trips to other towns and cities within Austria, as well as hopping over to Slovakia and Hungary for a day!

Whether you’ve only got a short layover in a city, or you’re short on time and want to maximize your experience, day trips are the perfect solution.
